TechNichol MoJo PackRat QuickStart (Back)
.

Once PackRat has completed building the selected package(s), backup the newly created files that have been written under the Destination Directory.  Depending upon the features of your backup media, you may be able to write directly to it.

Don't forget to free up your drive space by cleaning up (deleting) the Destination Directory once you have verified that your files have been successfully backed up.

Source

This is the top level directory that you want to backup. All files and directories under this will be packaged. You can either browse for the Source Directory by clicking the browse button, or by typing it in the text field.

Destination

This is the temporary directory where your packaged Source files will be saved. You can either browse for the Source Directory by clicking the browse button, or by typing it in the text field.

Max Size

Use this option to set the upper limit of you backup media. Typical CD media comes in 650 MB and 700 MB sizes while DVD backup is commonly available in 4.7 GB sizes.

Customizing Max Sizes

You can add you own sizes by typing the new size right inside the Max Size box.
To Do this, click inside the text area of the Max Size drop down, enter a number, followed by the units (accepted units are B, KB, MB, GB), then press the ENTER key.
A more advanced editor that will allow you to add, update or delete entries is available under the Edit/MaxSize option from the drop down menu.

Build

Selecting this button will start the process of analyzing your files and grouping them into packages that fit within the "Max Size" limits.

Packages

Here you can selectively choose which packages to build.  This is particularly useful if your Destination device doesn't have enough free space to build all the packages at once.  With this feature you can build the selected packages, move them to your backup device, then go back (Build Button again) and build the remaining packages.  It recommended that you do not stop TechNichol Mojo PackRat, or make any changes to Source or Max Size options between builds as the Source files might be resorted into different packages which could result in missed files.
